  • Panama Beach

Panama Beach is a beautiful and quiet beach of gray sand and blue waters  about 2 km long and surrounded by lush vegetation typical of the tropical dry forest. In fact, Panama Beach is named after the trees of the same name found along its coastline.

Panama Beach is one of the most attractive beaches in the province of Guanacaste. It is located within  Culebra Bay in the Gulf of Papagayo, five minutes from Playa Hermosa and Playa del Coco. As its beach has no rocks, it is one of the best places to swim in Costa Rica, as the currents are not strong and the tide often remains low.

Panama Beach is ideal for those looking for quality rest and relaxation. Sunbathing, enjoying long walks along the beach and the quiet atmosphere makes for a delightful respite from the rat race. Water sports such as; sailing, fishing , snorkeling, diving, kayaking and rowing are all readily available here. Also, do not forget to visit the Rocha Estuary, with its lovely mangrove swamp and dry forest habitat, which you can walk to from the beach. Importantly, Panama Beach has a “Blue Flag” certificate, meaning that the beach and water have good health and safety conditions.

By its close proximity to Liberia and the Daniel Oduber International Airport, Panama Beach is accessible all year through a new road, making it easier for foreigners to travel to other nearby places. Numerous national parks are in the vicinity of Panama Beach, including the famous Rincón de la Vieja National Park, Palo Verde National Park and the Santa Rosa National Park to name a few. Panama Beach offers a variety of condominiums, resorts, and accommodation for all budgets, as well as numerous restaurants, bars and shopping areas.
